Steganography for iPhone

Hide a secret inside a photo.

A password, a note, a quiet message — sealed into the pixels of an ordinary picture. The photo looks completely normal, and the text inside opens only in PixelSecret.

Three steps

You were going to send that photo anyway.

PixelSecret writes your text into the least significant bits of the image. The picture is not altered in any way you can see — no watermark, no blur, no suspicious file.

01

Pick a photo

Choose anything from your library. A sunset, a receipt, a white wall — the less interesting the picture, the less attention it draws.

02

Write the secret

A Wi-Fi password, a PIN, a recovery phrase, a message you would rather not leave in a chat. Up to 50 characters free, unlimited with Pro.

03

Send the original

Share the PNG as a file. The photo arrives looking untouched; the text comes back only in PixelSecret, with the right key.

What it does

Built for the things you should not text.

Passwords get forwarded, screenshots get saved, group chats get scrolled back through. A photo with a secret inside behaves differently.

Looks completely normal

No badge, no frame, no hint that this photo is different. To anyone else it is just a picture in the camera roll.

Locked three ways

No key at all, a password you both already know, or a public key so only one specific person can open it.

Made for passwords

Wi-Fi codes, door PINs, locker combinations, recovery phrases. Stop leaving them where anyone can scroll back and read them.

Reading is always free

If someone sends you a PixelSecret photo, you can read every word without paying and without a length limit.

Survives being sent

Chat apps re-compress photos. For those trips, turn the secret into a code card that stays readable from a screen or a printout.

Nothing leaves your phone

Photos, text, passwords and keys are handled entirely on device with Apple's CryptoKit. Private keys live in the Keychain, outside iCloud backup.

Pro

Send it to one person — without agreeing on a password first.

Public-key mode locks the secret to a single device. They share their key once, you lock the photo to it, and nobody in between can open it — not even you, once the photo has left your phone.

  • No shared password to leak, reuse or forget
  • Batch-hide one secret across several photos
  • Scannable code cards for messaging apps

Privacy

We cannot read your secrets. Not by design — by construction.

There is no account and no upload. The photo you hide a message in never leaves the device unless you send it yourself, and the key never leaves at all.

Questions

The things people ask before the first photo.

Is my photo uploaded anywhere?

No. Hiding and reading happen entirely on your device. There is no server that receives images, text or keys, and no account to attach them to. The only data that leaves the phone is anonymous usage and crash information, and only if you allow it.

What happens if I forget the password?

The text stays locked. We never receive your password or your private key, so there is no reset, no recovery link and no back door. Keep the password somewhere you trust — or use no-key mode for secrets that are not sensitive on their own.

Will the hidden text survive WhatsApp or Instagram?

Usually not. Messaging apps re-compress images, and re-compression destroys the hidden bits. Send the PNG as a file or in an email attachment. When a chat app is the only option, use a code card instead — the code survives compression and can be scanned from the screen.

Can the person receiving it read it without paying?

Yes. Reading is free, unlimited and needs no purchase — that is deliberate, because a secret is only useful if the other side can open it.

How do I restore Pro on a new iPhone?

Open the Pro screen and tap Restore Purchases while signed in with the same Apple Account. Pro is a one-time purchase, so it restores at no cost. If nothing appears, check that the Apple Account matches the one used for the original purchase.
